About

Orthodontist Huntsville

Meet Dr. Nathan Johnson

Creating Healthy, Happy Smiles

I feel blessed to have a job I truly love and know I have the best job in the world. The excitement and passion I have for orthodontics is unwavering. I strive to provide the best care to each of my patients and want the orthodontic experience to have a lasting, positive impact in their lives.

The most exciting part of orthodontics, for me, is seeing the transformation that occurs throughout treatment. I have cared for many patients who started treatment feeling self-conscious about their smile. Seeing those same people at the end of care, confident with their new smile, is indescribable.

I became an orthodontist because it’s a challenging and rewarding field. It’s constantly changing, which means I’m always engaged with learning and expanding what I’m able to offer my patients. It also allows me to interact and establish positive relationships with each patient.

Education and Commitment to Continuing Education

I’m committed to continually learning. Orthodontics is an ever-changing field. New techniques, materials, and technology all mean better care options and even stronger results for my patients. I complete multiple continuing-education courses each year at the local, regional, and national levels. By learning from the leaders and innovators in orthodontics, I ensure my patients receive the best care available. They deserve nothing less.

Professional Memberships

Supporting Our Community

We love our community! Johnson Orthodontics is proud to support our local schools, nonprofits, and community outreach programs. It is our goal to continually support and give back to the community in which we live and work.

Away from Work

I grew up in Montgomery and now call Huntsville my home. My amazing wife Jessica was essential to the design and early success of Johnson Orthodontics. She’s still a big part of our team but now works mostly behind the scenes.

Jessica and I have been blessed with two young children: our son Eli, and our daughter Ava. When I’m not working, I love spending time with them playing outside and watching them grow and learn. I also love college football (Roll Tide!), and enjoy golfing, hunting, and running.

Meet the Team

We recognize that all our patients are unique and deserve to receive orthodontic care that reflects their individual needs. Our experienced and talented team is committed to working with you and your family to create a comfortable, stress-free, and rewarding orthodontic experience every time you visit our practice.

We are pleased to welcome you and your family, and we look forward to working with you.

Front Office Team

Jessica Johnson

Co-Founder and JO Ambassador

In 2012, Nathan and I fulfilled a dream when we opened Johnson Orthodontics, a practice centered on patients and our community. I spent every day at the office for many years. I wore many hats, from assisting to scheduling to treatment coordinating to marketing to insurance, and even cleaning the bathrooms! When our children were born, I was fortunate to take some time away from the office and begin transitioning into the new role as our marketing director. Now I try to spend most of my time behind the scenes. You’ll often find me lending a hand with marketing or re-decorating the office.

I enjoy watching Nathan fulfill his dream of practicing orthodontics, and I absolutely love seeing the reaction of patients when they see their smiles for the first time after they’ve completed treatment. Working with our team is a truly gratifying experience. Each team member is passionate about their job, and they go above and beyond for our patients. Outside of the office, you’ll find me volunteering with the Junior League of Huntsville, serving on Huntsville Hospital’s Development Council, and being a chauffeur to our kiddos (Eli and Ava).

Allison

Marketing Director

I joined the Johnson Orthodontics team in 2013. I started working as an orthodontic assistant and quickly transitioned to the treatment coordinator, and that role has now evolved to marketing director. I love being a part of the JO team, and contributing behind the scenes, and making sure we are staying connected with the community and our patients outside of the office. We take so much pride in giving back and supporting our local community, whether it’s donating supplies to a PTA, sponsoring a ball team, or giving to a local nonprofit.

My husband Cris and I have two adult kids, Nate and Lauren. Our son Nate is a senior at Alabama — Roll Tide! — and our daughter Lauren is a senior at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. My husband served in the Army for 20 years, so we have been lucky enough to travel the world, and our kids loved it as much as we did! When I’m not at work, you will find me spending time on the lake with our friends and family.

Jessica M.

Treatment Coordinator

I began my career in the orthodontic dental field in 2009, and I am so proud to be a part of the JO Dream Team! As the treatment coordinator, I am the lucky one who gets to know the patient first before anyone else. Luckily, my nine years of experience as a clinical orthodontic assistant have helped me excel in the treatment coordinator role. Part of my job is to educate you about your orthodontic treatment and work out finances that fit best for your budget. But my absolute favorite part is learning about all of your goals, your background, and working with you to make sure that we make you happy. You may not know it yet, but I can already envision you with your new, beaming, simply amazing smile and how this will change your life forever.

I hail from a small town in DeKalb County called Fyffe. Most of you may know about it by the sighting of the UFO in 1989 — haha! I now reside in Madison County, where I met and married my husband Chad in 2009, and we have two beautiful daughters, Jolie and Addie Rose. In our spare time, we enjoy spending our time at the lake, shopping, and of course, cheering on the ROLL TIDE! I love my family wholeheartedly, and I am truly blessed to be a wife and mommy.

Sybil

Front Office Supervisor

I joined Johnson Orthodontics in 2016 after working as a scheduling coordinator in the general dentistry field.  Patients enjoy interacting with me because I try to live my life by this quote, “Keep a smile on your face, and let your personality be your autograph.”

The main reason I enjoy working here is because of the relationships we have built with our patients and their families.  I love being a member of the Johnson Orthodontics team.  From the pranks we all pull on each other to the many laughs we share.  We have such a good time together!

When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two boys and hanging out with friends – especially if we are bowling, playing board games, or simply binge-watching movies.

Melanie

Financial Coordinator

I spent ten years in commercial banking before making the jump to orthodontic management in 2014. I’m so happy that I did! My coworkers make me look forward to coming to work every day! We are a team that really cares about each other and works very well together to help our patients achieve their goals.

I have two wonderful daughters who bring me so much joy every day. One is an aspiring photographer, and the other is studying to be a nurse. When I am not in the office, you will find me doing something outdoors. I love hiking and camping with my husband; we really enjoy exploring and going on new adventures. I also really enjoy crafting: from wood carving to cake decorating, DIY projects keep me busy!

Jennifer

Front Desk Assistant

As a Huntsville native, I’ve worked in education for eight years, mainly with special needs children in our local school districts, before earning my Dental Assistant certificate in 2019.  I worked as a Dental Assistant for years for a local general dentist.  I was recruited to be a part of the Johnson Orthodontic family and love seeing the excitement of our patients when they see their new smiles.

I’m married to my best friend and soulmate, Jay, and we have a daughter, Payton, a son, Christian, and our dog, Max.  When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.  I love rollerskating, photography, Braves baseball, Auburn football (War Eagle), and evening walks with my husband.

Jana

Front Desk Assistant

Before devoting my full-time work to Johnson Orthodontics, I moved to Huntsville from Helena, AL in 2019 to plant a church in downtown Huntsville. Upon accepting the position at Johnson Orthodontics, I immediately found it to be a fun, family-oriented practice. All of the staff are wonderful and easy to work with. Each patient that comes through the door is as important as the next, so I’m always kind and give consistent care.

My husband JT and I have been married for 20 years. We have two daughters, Gracey and Emma. Our pitty Otis is also part of the family.

Sarah

Observation Coordinator/Clinical Assistant

I earned my associate’s degree in general education and my dental assisting certificate in 2016 and have been a Johnson Orthodontics team member since 2017. I’m so lucky to spend my days helping patients have a happy healthy smile! The smile on a patient’s face when they see their final results is the absolute most rewarding feeling!

I have a beautiful little girl named Karoline, and in my spare time, you can catch me watching TV or playing outside with my baby girl. I enjoy spending time with my family and hanging out with friends. I love to attend concerts and travel the world, especially the beach!

Clinical Assistants

Jessica C.

Clinic Lead

In 2013, I earned my associate’s in applied science and a license as a dental assistant. After working for eight years, I was lucky enough to join the team at Johnson Orthodontics. I do whatever it takes to help our patients achieve great smiles, from setting them up for treatment to taking the braces off and everything in between! The best part of my day is seeing a patient happy about the final product of their smile!

My husband Christopher and I have a daughter named Chloe. I’m a huge Georgia Bulldog fan! I enjoy hanging out with my friends and family and love going to festivals every year to see all the fun arts and crafts. We also try to vacation in a different state each year because I love magnets, and I get one from each state and national park we visit.

Jolie

Clinical Assistant

I graduated from North Alabama Dental Assisting School in 2018 and joined the Johnson Orthodontics team.  I love getting to watch patients’ confidence grow when they see their new smile.  And I love getting to interact with my patients and getting to keep up with all the milestones in their lives.

We have the best team at Johnson Orthodontics!  We all truly care for one another.  Not only do we have a great work environment, but we also have so much fun!

I have been married to my wonderful husband for almost four years now.  I have a Goldendoodle, Ziggy.  She is my baby!  I love to shop – it’s my favorite hobby!  And I love spending time with my family and friends.

Kaitlin

Clinical Assistant

I have my Associate of Science Degree, Dental Assisting Certification, and three years of experience in the field.  What I like most about my job, is learning new things every day, and building relationships with my patients.  Patients enjoy working with me because I have a positive attitude and make funny jokes.

I enjoy working at Johnson Orthodontics because of my amazing boss and the incredible group of ladies that make up our team.  My co-workers make work fun and interesting.

Outside of work, I love taking care of my dog, Momo.  I also love to draw.

Brandi

Clinical Assistant

I graduated from Ross Medical as a Treatment Assistant 5 years ago.  What I love most about the job is being very detailed in my explanation to the patients on what treatment we will be doing and how it will benefit them.  I love when my patients are excited about treatment, and if they aren’t, I love trying to make it fun and get them excited.  I love working at Johnson Orthodontics because we are a close-knit crew and that makes it a fun environment. There are so many friendly and helpful people that work here.  Dr. Johnson is a great boss and really cares for his patients and his team.

Some interesting facts about me – I am a twin and the oldest of 6 kids!  I am married.  I love to read, and I love art and music.  In fact, I play guitar and sing with my sisters.  We occasionally perform at local coffee shops and restaurants.

Haley

Clinical Assistant

I am a Certified Dental Assistant with over 4 years of experience focusing on patient care. It is a pleasure to meet new people each day and to provide a friendly and enjoyable experience for every patient. I enjoy getting to know and building relationships with my patients during their orthodontic journey with us. It is a priority for me to always provide my patients with detailed treatment, all while maintaining a fun atmosphere. One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is seeing a patient’s confidence grow after their smile is transformed.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my three dogs, antique shopping, traveling, and listening to live music. The work environment at Johnson Orthodontics is truly fun and positive. I am grateful to be part of such an amazing team!

Danelle

I graduated from Dental Assisting School in 2002 as a Certified Dental Assistant. Having taken ASL classes in 2006 and 2019, I am proficient in sign language and look forward to expanding my ASL knowledge through more classes in the future. Being a people person, I take great pride in making each patient’s orthodontic experience enjoyable and memorable. I have always felt a passion for orthodontics because I enjoy seeing how delighted patients are when they see the results of their beautiful new smiles. My Johnson Orthodontics team is amazing! All of the team members are friendly, funny, and extremely personable. We are a great team!

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family. My favorite roles in life are being a mother to my three beautiful children and being a wife to my wonderful husband.
